In Philippines C. lynx and C. erosa have been collected as living specimens on only one or two occasions (Burgess, personal communication), although Ostergaard (1928) has pointed out that both species are fairly common as fossils in raised coral reefs of the Pleistocene on Oahu. C. vitellus, which also occurs as a fossil, is occasionally collected in Philippines in shallow water.
