Fashion shell Afoot and Afloat With HMS MembersBRUSSELS My annual collecting tour for 2004 took me to the Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Thanks to Sean Raynon Sabado, I found familiar names and excellent contacts in each place. I went first to Zamboanga, in the Southern Philippines, in which area I did some diving and collecting. The cones and Terebra were abundant. While there I got a tiny Cypraea tigris Linné, fully mature, with a well-marked sulcus line. It was less that 5cm. What a contrast to some of the Philippine giants! Fashion shell
Fashion shell In the Philippine Shell News August 1967, page 5, Mr. Walter O. Cernohorsky, of Fiji, illustrated and discussed a seashell that he had identified as C. rashleighana. The seashell illustrated lacked the visible specific characteristics of C. rashleighana that I and many other serious seashell collectors had come to associate with this species. I immediately wrote Walter stating my opinion and the reasons for it. Fashion shell
