He only found it on one tree and then only three specimens. It was pictured in our January 1961 issue, (Vol. IX, No. 3). Dr. Alison Kay, who examined them briefly, said they resembled a Japanese species called Volva brevirostris, but she would have to study them more closely. This has not happened as yet. Mr. Hall returned to Maui with his Philippines shells, and he has not found any more.
