Shells wooden
Shells wooden In conclusion, I in no way wish to infer here that all or some of the C. mappa from Apra Harbor have taxonomic significance in being mutants, local forms, racial variants, etc., although it is true that many local collectors use the term 'pygmy' or 'dwarf mappa' to distinguish specimens taken from Apra Harbor. Of course, no possibilities should be discounted until qualified, scientific study is made; I have been informed that some such is currently underway. However, until such conclusions are fully developed and accepted most other local collectors, I just consider these shells to be one of the many items of malacological interest present here on Guam. Shells wooden Similar colors are found in C. jeaniana, but with much greater frequency and to greater extremes. I have one specimen with a beautiful orange base. Many other color variations exist. In any event, the color variations I have personally studied do not seem to vary at all in form from their normal colored counterparts. Shells wooden
